January - World Buskers Festival, the largest international street performers' festival in Australasia, bringing together cultures and characters from around the globe.

February hosts the Food and Wine Festival of Canterbury held in Hagley Park, Christchurch. Just a short drive from our motel. The Christchurch Festival of Flowers, an international floral extravaganza in the garden city. This festival includes the Christchurch Cathedral floral carpet.

March hosts Le Race, the South Island's largest cycling event starting off in Cathedral Square, Christchurch and finishing in Akaroa. A course known for its spectacular views.

And August.. The Christchurch International Jazz Festival complete with jazz, wine and food, featuring international, national and local talent. The Montana Christchurch Winter Carnival - a 10-day celebration of the Christchurch winter

November has Showtime Canterbury, Christchurch's annual carnival, an agricultural and pastoral show, harness racing, gallops and fashion, as well as many other activities and attractions.
